Ramadhan Gem – Day 23

Keep making this du’a in these final days of Ramadhan ❤

Aishah (r.a.) reported that she asked: “O Messenger of Allah! If I realize Lailat-ul-Qadr, what should I supplicate in it?” He s.a.w. replied: “You should supplicate:
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun, tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni.”
(Allahumma, You are Most Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me). [1]

The linguistic meaning of the Name of Allah ‘Al-Afuww:
‘Afu is the one who possesses great ‘afw. This Name implies that Allah s.w.t. overlooks our sins, and He does not call us to account for our sins, despite of the fact that we deserve punishment. Allah s.w.t. has the fullest ability and authority to punish us, but He instead does ‘afw for us. This is more than just pardoning or covering it up, it is wiping our sins away COMPLETELY.
