…And He (Allah s.w.t) is with you (by His Knowledge) wheresoever you may be.
And Allah is the All-Seer of what you do.
People act differently when their boss is in the same room, don’t they? People drive differently when the police patrol car cruises on the same road. People act differently when there’s a security camera at the stop sign. When we recognize the presence of a higher power and authority, it changes our behaviour. Automatic taqwa kicks in.
This part of the Ayah says: Allah s.w.t. is with you WHEREVER you are. He s.w.t. has full view of what you’re up to, CONSTANTLY. You are never, ever alone. What it means is that you’re not alone in the hotel room, you’re not alone on campus, you’re not alone in the car. If we understood just this part of this Ayah, the way we speak will change, the website we browse will change, the phone numbers we dial will change, everything about us will change.
If we truly internalize this Ayah, there will necessarily be a change in our behaviour.
